MRT visit on February 25, 2016
Shah Alam, Malaysia – Recently we were visited by MRT (Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd), a company fully owned by the Minister of Finance Incorporated and was set up to be the developer and the asset owner of the Mass Rapid Transit Project. The gist from the visit was, MRT tend to seek electric bus alternative for MRT feeder service to serve for 36-stations-MRT2 or alternatively known as SSP Line (Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line) which is planned to be completed by 2022.
In correspondent to EBIM tagline, “Built By Malaysians for Malaysians and the Environment”, EBIM is the only locally designed electric bus that has grabbed MRT attention into visiting our facility. The meeting has MRT exchanged with us some specific criteria on the electric bus they are looking for. They look forward to have those features implemented in the electric bus in their future operation plan meant for MRT feeder service in MRT2/SSP Line. With locally designed parts and component on EBIM, working hand in hand will surely made it easier given that less involvement of international transactions and communication.
The visiting party was lead by Mr Rudyanto B. Azhar, MRT’s Head of Feeder Bus & Infra Planning along with Ir. Zulkifli Mohamed, the Head of Systems for MRT2-SSP Line. We gave them a tour around the facility and let them have the unique experience riding the local electric bus.
With hope for a positive future collaboration with MRT, Sync R&D continues to strive in getting EBIM ready for the Malaysian public very soon.
